Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Wani was established in the year 1928. S.P.M. high school was started for imparting the education to all needy students in Wani region. In the year 1961 Tilak Smark Wani Trustees named Shri Damodhar Narhar Elkunchwar, Yadav Srihari Aney, Madhav Srihari Aney, Vyankatesh Sitaram Bhedi and Purushottam Sitaram Patil had decided to handover the Tilak Smark Auditorium to Shikshan Prasark Mandal for the purpose of imparting the knowledge at senior college level. The first office bearers of the management were as follows.

- Shri Ratnakar V. Karandikar- Secretary
- Yadav S. Aney – Joint Secretary
