About Library
Library has fairly large collection not only of books (both text and reference books on vide variety of subjects) but also of charts, maps etc.
The library is using LIBMAN version 1.0 integrated library management software and is partially computerized. The library offers access to all students and staff members of the institute and stacks more than 52000 books including arts, commerce, science, rich reference and general reading books valued over 40 lakhs. The library subscribes to 7 print journals and NLIST consortium online e journals. We are registered member of NLIST (National library and information services infrastructure for scholarly content) and NDL (National Digital Library) which provides e resources to all registered members of our college. We have separate collection of books which are published prior to 1950 besides there are selected copies of parliament debates of Loksabha. The total expenditure of books printed and e-journals till date stands at rupees 41 lakhs.
- The library also has reading cum ICT room facility for all where they have access to e journals, competitive books, magazines, newspaper etc and can access them in the silent learning environment.
- To avail oneself of the library facility every student will have to get library BT card. We have provided open access to all students, while a junior/senior college students can take home 3 books at a time, and a post graduate student can take out 4 books at a time from the college library.
- Every year we used to organize Library Orientation Program for newly admitted students of 1st year from each faculty various programs like book exhibition cum sale, how to use ebooks and ejournals, IPR workshop, Vachan Prerna Divas etc to inculcate reading habits in students.
- All the students must return their library books within 10 days from the date of issue of these books failing which they will be fined Rs. 1 a day, in case the books are lost by anyone he/she will have to pay not only the price of the book but also the fine imposed thereon by the library authorities. Students should issue and return library books only during scheduled hours on scheduled days.
- Besides, the library has made some special arrangement whereby some economically backward and promising students can take out a number of books from the college through Book bank scheme after paying caution money.
